The Priva Compass cabling consists of three completely separate communication networks.
I/O Network: The I/O Network is used internally to communicate between the controller and the I/O modules. This network must be contained within the Compass enclosure. The I/O modules are identified by the order in which they are connected in the I/O network, so it is important not to change the order.
Compass Network: The Compass Network is used to connect the Compass Controllers to the Priva Gateway. This is a standard Ethernet network, so you must follow Ethernet design rules when laying out this network between controllers. This network must be exclusive for Priva devices!
When connecting this network, make sure you use Ethernet port 2 on the gateway. Depending on the gateway, this will be labelled as ETH 2 or LAN2.
Office Network: The Office Network is your own network on your site. To access your gateway from any device on your site, you will need to connect your Office Network to Ethernet port 1 on the gateway. Depending on the gateway, this will be labelled as ETH1 or LAN1. By default, this port on the gateway is set up for DHCP, but you can change it to a static IP address from the Gateway setup page.
