Sending the TC Manager & Touchpoint files is needed in order for the Cloud Connector to connect to the Blue ID controllers. Commissioning the Blue ID controllers without sending the TC Manager & Touchpoint files means that only the control application and intercontroller communication is enabled. The Blue ID project is in a state that does not support modern and standardized means of communication. As a result, the communication possibilities are limited and not sufficient for the Cloud Connector. This affects not only Building Operator. All of the Priva cloud services require a proper functioning Cloud Connector. Hence the sending of TC Manager files to the Blue ID Controllers.
Currently, there are hardly any Priva Blue ID projects without TC Manager and/or Priva Touchpoint operation. Sending the TC Manager & Touchpoint files for Priva Cloud Services was for that reason never a problem. As an additional benefit, all TC 8.6.x Blue ID projects are not forced to be updated for Priva Cloud services. This provides the highly appreciated backward compatibility for many customers.
With the introduction of Priva Building Operator and the phase-out of TC Manager we expect users to not want to send TC Manager files anymore. We have taken measures to ensure this will not cause a problem when connecting the Priva Cloud Services. There will be a two-step approach. Step one is ensuring modern and standardized communication with Blue ID controllers. This step will be mandatory for Cloud Services. The second step will enable the operation of TC Manager & Touchpoints which will be optional and only applicable for projects that require this type of operation.
