Why a Single Alarm Sometimes Goes Quiet
When a sensor or device develops a fault, it can trigger the same alarm again and again - sometimes many times per minute. To make sure those repeated events don't drown out the rest of the alarms on your site, Priva temporarily pauses notifications for that one alarm until it calms down. If this pattern continues, Priva temporarily puts the alarm into quarantine. The status of the alarm is regularly evaluated so that if the alarm stops excessively activating the alarm, that the system returns to its normal reporting situation.
Why this exists
A real, unrelated alarm somewhere else on your site is far more useful to see than the hundredth copy of the same broken-sensor message. Without this protection, your inbox would fill up with duplicate alarm notifications, and the (other) alarms that actually need attention could be missed.
