What is domain ownership verification?
Domain ownership verification is a procedure to verify that your organization owns a specific (email) domain (or domains).
Is this required?
No. It is only necessary if your (large) organization wants to integrate its own identity management system with Priva Digital Services.
Verifying ownership of its email domains is the first step towards enabling an organization to use its own access management systems for user management. It verifies that the organization is responsible for all email addresses in that domain. This verification is necessary for the organization to integrate its systems with Priva Digital Services from Entra ID, rather than importing their users to Priva Access Control. It removes the need to implement permissions and roles in two different systems.
Who can perform this verification?
The person in your organization that has the Enterprise Administrator role in Priva Access Control and who also has access to DNS management.
How do I verify domain ownership?
- In Priva Access Control, go to "Configuration", then "Domains", "Domain Ownership"
- Click "Add domain"
- Enter your domain name
- Verify domain: copy the DMS TXT record value
- Go to your DNS provider and add the TXT record
- Wait for DNS propagation (this may take up to 48 hours)
- Click "Verify" to check domain ownership
Verification failed! What next?
- check DNS propagation
- verify TXT record value
- try again
