An API (Application Programming Interface) is a connection between computers or between computer programs. API services provide easy access to data collected through the secure Priva Cloud to connect your historical or real-time data with third-party applications.
To access your data in the Priva Cloud via APIs, you’ll first need to add your applications in Access Control (more info).
There are two API types supported: the Realtime Data API and the Historical Data API. They are both available as add-ons within the Essentials and Plus subscription packages (not for the Starter package).
Historical Data API
Gives access to the historical variables that are saved to the Priva Cloud, such as temperature, humidity, air quality, and meter values, etc.
Realtime Data API
- Setpoint: Gives access to write values. This means it allows you to change writable values of data points, such as desired room temperature, desired humidity, set points at heat curves, etc.
- Telemetry: Gives access to retrieve values and supports COV. This means any value changes are updated via the Realtime Data API and customer Microsoft Azure EventHub.
