Permissions for applications running on the Edge Gateway (now only: Building Operator Local and Access Control Local) are given in Access Control Local; a local variant of Access Control that is separate from the cloud variant.
However, people do not necessarily need to be added as users in Access Control Local to be able to sign in to these local applications. They can also sign in using their cloud account if the Edge Gateway and their PC are connected to the Internet. In that case, the permissions from their cloud account will be applied. Since this requires an Internet connection, make sure that all users that need to access local application also have a local account, created in Access Control Local.
Access Control Local can be accessed by connecting to the LAN 2 port of the Edge Gateway via http://<IP_address_LAN2>:5001.
The below picture shows the 4 options for how the networks can be connected to the Edge Gateway and to which network the PC for Access Control Local should be connected.
No Internet is needed to use Access Control Local. Only to update Access Control Local, you need to temporarily connect to the Internet and update the module on the Edge Gateway via Installation & Maintenance. |
