Enabling multifactor authentication (MFA) can make custom accounts extra secure. This improves account security by adding an extra verification method in addition to your sign-in password. Priva offers SMS and phone calls as MFA options for your custom account.
Using MFA for your custom account could be enforced by your administrator. You will then not be able to disable MFA.
MFA is an account setting; it is not linked to an organization. This means that if you enable MFA, you enable it for all organizations to which you have access with your account. Similarly, if an administrator enforces MFA for you for their organization, you will have to sign in with MFA for all organizations to which you have access with your account.
How to enable or disable MFA?
If MFA is not enforced by your administrator, you can enable/disable it yourselves:
Enable when creating your account:
You can enable MFA when creating your account (after accepting an invitation).
Enable/disable in your profile:
You can enable/disable MFA in My Priva > Edit profile.
After enabling, you will need to go back to Edit profile to enter your phone number.
