Building Operator Local (Fallback) is a local variant of Building Operator that allows you to operate your Priva system without being connected to the Internet. It runs on the Edge Gateway and can be accessed within the Priva network by connecting to the LAN 2 port of the Edge Gateway via http://<IP_address_LAN2>:5002 (more info).

Availability

Building Operator Local Fallback is standard included in the Digital Services subscription. Building Operator Local can be purchased as a one-off purchase, separately from a Digital Services subscription.

Local vs Local Fallback

Building Operator Local and Local Fallback are functionally the same. There is no automatic fallback mechanism; if the Internet fails, you will have to manually access Building Operator Local. The difference in naming is there only because the usage purpose differs for the subscription types.

Local Fallback is intended to be used for a short time in case of internet outage. Certain functionalities may not (fully) work locally if not connected to the Internet at least once every 14 days.

Historical data support in Building Operator Local (Fallback): Edge Gateway module version < 2.12 No, only live data supported. Edge Gateway module version ≥ 2.12* Viewing historical data: Yes, same as Building Operator in the cloud: for Blue ID short-term and long-term historical data and for Compri HX only long-term historical data. Managing historical data: No, it is not yet possible to add/remove data points for long-term storage. Therefore, the ‘Historical data management’ page is not available locally. This means that if you want to add/remove data points for long-term storage and make them available locally, you need to do this in Building Operator in the cloud (more info) and synchronize locally by temporarily connecting to the Internet. * This module update is not available in Installation & Maintenance. It can only be installed by using the Edge Gateway recovery image that is available on the Support Portal .
