To get access to the schedule tab, you need the permission ‘Manage organizational settings’ in Access Control.
Note that once you start creating the first schedule, all notifications of all sites of the organization will stop being sent to everyone! From then on, notifications will only be sent to people assigned to a schedule. This means that, from then on, no one will receive notifications for the sites and alarm groups that are not linked to a schedule. This applies to all notification types (mail, SMS, push). |
Make sure no organizational rules are blocking the notifications from being sent to the people assigned to your schedule. |
Creating schedules is done in two main steps: first, you set up a schedule and second you assign people to the schedule at certain time slots. After that, inform the scheduled people that they have been scheduled.
1. Set up new schedule
Click + Add new schedule and follow the steps to:
- Set the schedule name
- Add persons to inform (optional)
It is possible to link people to a schedule who will receive notifications (once per alarm) for information when alarms occur in the alarm groups linked to the schedule. More info - Select one or multiple sites
- Select alarm groups (per site)
Only alarms that are not yet assigned to a schedule. - Set the number of notifications and notification interval (per site)
Note that all these settings can be changed later via the schedule settings.
2. Assign people to the schedule
For information about the notifications sent from the schedule, and for understanding the escalation levels and the ability to schedule multiple people simultaneously within 1 escalation level, see: |
Assign people to the schedule by adding time slots (+ Add time slot) and adding escalation levels (+ Add escalation level).
To speed up the work, you can use the function to duplicate time slots from a selectable period to a destination date (Duplicate time period).
Note that the schedule is shown in the time zone you are in (your Windows settings), which is shown with the location icon.
3. Inform scheduled people
People don’t get a notification that they have been added to a schedule.
- Inform all scheduled employees in which time slots they are scheduled. Explain to them that they have to acknowledge the alarm when they start working on the alarm which makes the notifications stop from being sent. For more info, lead them to: I've been scheduled, what next?
- Inform the ‘persons to inform’ that they are assigned to a schedule for information. Explain that they receive these notifications for informational purposes only and therefore should not acknowledge the alarms. Note that the content of the notification messages for ‘persons to inform’ will not differ from those for persons assigned to time slots.
- Request all scheduled employees and ‘persons to inform’ to make sure no personal rules or user preferences are blocking the notifications from being sent to them.
You may give all scheduled employees access to the schedules in Notification Center to inform them about their schedules, but note that there are no view-only permissions; anyone who has access to the schedule tab can create, modify, and delete schedules.
